We need to build a web scraper tool to capture data from online grocery sites.
Some of the sites we need to be scraped are :
Ralphs.com
Vons.com
Wholefoods.com
BristolFarms.com
Walmart.com
Amazon.com
sprouts.com
erewhonmarket.com
smartandfinal.com
We need the following data:
UPC Code
Items Description
Category/Sub-Category
Price
And ideally, we need this to be done by zip code so for example – on vons.com – first enter the local city e.g. Santa Monica and then scrape all the grocery products that are stored in that store for that region.
The scraping needs to be done daily fo each store.
The end result will be a large set of data – can be XML
