Project Title: Scrape Posts from Gab.com
Project Description:
Our research team is looking for an experienced programmer to extract some data (posts and metadata) from Gab.com, which is similar to Twitter.
Specifically, the task will be conducted in two steps:
1. Get the full list of all followers of 54 seed accounts. We will send the complete list of these 54 Gab handles (@example).
Our team will then look at the resulting followers’ list and decide who are the relevant followers (For example, we may impose a threshold, with the relevant followers being those users who follow 7+ of the seed accounts.)
2. Once we have decided on this threshold, scrape the Gab timeline (2020/10/01 – 2021/01/31) for each of the 54 seed accounts AND all relevant followers, including all of their posts, likes, comments, followers numbers, metadata, etc.
The output we need:
Data (posts and metadata) of the 54 seed accounts and the relevant followers in csv, json, or any other relevant formats.
